 About 

V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, a temple of learning founded by a great visionary Shri V.V.Vanniaperumal Nadar with a singular objective of empowering rural women through higher education, is a saga of human excellence, endurance and commitment for five and half decades.

​

Having started with a meagre strength in 1962, the institution has grown by leaps and bounds into one of the reputed women's colleges in Tamilnadu. At present the students strength is around 4400 . The college offers 21 UG courses, 14 PG courses, 6 M.Phil programs and 3 Ph.D. programs. At present 92 teaching faculty serve in the aided departments and 122 in the self-finance departments.  The college was conferred with autonomous status in 2009.It was reaccredited with 'A' Grade in 2010 by NAAC.

 

The department of Computer Science organized a UGC sponsored Regional Level Seminar on “Recent Trends in Computer Science” from 24.02.2006 to 25.02.2006. Annual Conference of ADMA and Pre-Conference Workshop on Algebraic Graph Theory were convened from 04.06.2012 to 10.02.2012, by  Department of Mathematics and ADMA (Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications).  An UGC sponsored National workshop on ‘Analytical Tools for Researchers in Commerce and Computer Science – “WATRCC -14’ was organized jointly by the Departments of Mathematics, Commerce and Computer Science from 03.07.2014 to 05.07.2014.
